![]() Companions, if they've been sitting around your keep doing nothing for a few levels, will automatically get enough XP to match your level when you re-invite them into your party. Henchmen will not auto-level, however, like Companions will. Now you're ready to go back to Valewood and do all the quests in that area, as well as Eastermwood, and the temple of Gilded Vale itself.Īs you find other companions (and there are a lot) you can choose to take them along, or keep the henchmen you made (and swap around as you like). Then use whatever cash you have left to hire a couple henchmen and round out your party. Get Aloth immediately (he's the easiest companion to recruit). I've found the best way to tackle the beginning of the game is to quickly go to Gilded Vale first (skip the bear, the chef, and everything else in Valewood). The NPC Companions you meet along the way (Aloth, Eder, etc.) are nice and all, but some of them you won't meet for a while (Pellegina) and many of them have less-than-optimal Attribute allocations (Durance, for instance) and some are just annoying, from a RP perspective (Durance, again). You get to select everything: Race, Class, Attributes, Abilities and Talents all under your control. ![]() These are companions that you get to build from scratch just like your PC. ![]() and in a hurry(Both lvl 2).īest advice I ever received: When you reach Gilded Vale, go to the inn and hire some adventurers (henchmen) to round out your party. There are many ways how to complete the game, with a fully party, solo or with different companions - even at highest difficulty. Don't fight everything and everyone you see.Īlso are the quests not marked by a lvl recommendation anywhere to give you a heads up before you decide to undertake them? No. Use party sneak mode even with low Stealth skill. You can find crafting material in areas around Gilded Vale.Įxplore all areas you can visit. Enchant the weapons of your most important warriors with Burn damage. If the spirits there cause you problems, use heavy armor with everyone. Have you met Durance, the Priest yet at Magran's Fork?Ĭaed Nua is a first roadblock. He has talked to you in Gilded Vale just before the tree, and you should have talked to him once more after visiting the hanging dwarf woman.įurther, have you visited the mill in Gilded Vale? So what am I missing? I cant find anymore quests to sufficiently lvl up in gilded vale, I have completely explored everything in the forest just north of gilded vale. Decided to try the main quest line out and go to Caed Nua. Decided maybe I accidentally missed something went back to make sure, can't find anymore quests. Only to find myself and my newly acquired party member, Aloth(I think thats how its spelled), get steamrolled by anymore than 1 opponent any further east than gilded vale or the eastern forest or whatever. Then I took the quest for the blacksmith to go east and get his supplies. Did the one with the bear cave and the guy murdering his friend. But hung around anyways to make sure I wasnt missing any quests or anything. I did the intro portion, made it to Gilded Vale, Found out I'm no longer welcome there. I never go with anything harder than normal on a first play through of anything.
